I love the symbolism in the movie The Wizard of Oz. A whirlwind tornado takes Dorothy far from home to an unfamiliar land, and after a long quest, she learns that she had the means to get home all along.
What if we all had our own personal Glinda, Good Witch of the North, who could teach us how to get home again, to that place of stability that exists within each of us? I honestly think of Ayurveda this way – as my own Glinda who shows me, step by step, the way back to a homebase of good health, stability, and resilience.
If you could click your heels and transport yourself back to your most grounded, healthy, and contented self, what would that look like? Do any of these fit?
- I’d feel more energy in the afternoons
- I’d have more space for fun in my life
- I’d wake up actually feeling well-rested
- PMS or hot flashes would stop stealing my sanity
- I wouldn’t get winded walking up a steep hill
- I’d stop worrying that something was wrong all the time
