Cardamom Mint Limeade

Although everyone thinks of lemonade in the summer, according to Ayurveda lemons are actually heating, while limes (the green ones!) are cooling. This drink is a lovely cooling option that feels just as festive, and even more refreshing. Cardamom adds an unexpected floral note, and the mint gives just the right zing.

Ingredients
4 cups pure water
¼  cup fresh squeezed lime juice (or more to taste)
½  teaspoon cardamom powder
¼ teaspoon coriander powder
1 Tablespoon + 1 teaspoon sugar (first stir into a bit of hot water, then let cool)
Fresh mint leaves (to garnish)

Instructions
Mix all ingredients except mint in a blender until frothy. Pour a serving into a drinking glass. Take a sprig of mint leaves and gently crush them to release their essential oils, then tuck them into the glass.

Serve cool rather than ice cold (or with just a few cubes of ice, if you can’t resist!).
