When we get inspired to try a new health-fortifying routine, we may find ourselves sabotaged by a sneaky culprit: Shame. Shame often lurks around the edges of our efforts to start a new healthy habit. It can sound different ways:
- “I couldn’t do this before – so it would be kinder to myself not to get my hopes up.”
- “I just don’t have enough discipline.”
- “No matter how hard I try, I always fail (and probably always will)….”
- “I should have figured this out already.”
Shame can undermine our efforts, knocking us back – stopping us before we even get started. It’s essential for us to remove shame’s power over us so we can have the healthy life we dream of.
In this brief video, I share 3 strategies to disempower shame – and ultimately to feel better in your body and your beliefs about yourself.
